The Motorhead Events Ultimate Enduro X Series Report: Springfield, MO

Springfield, MO – The final two rounds of the Motorhead Events Ultimate Enduro X series made its way to Springfield, MO this weekend into the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds Arena. While Springfield attracted many new racers, it also crowned the series champions. In the Pro Enduro class, after a tough first lap, Matt Crouch salvaged a second place overall finish on Friday night and rode a dominant race on Saturday night and went home with the championship trophy. In the Enduro A class, Dan Hirner collected enough points for the championship with a second and fifth place finishes. Collin Wright and Ryan Keithly also won championships in their perspective classes.

Friday Night Enduro Pro
Matt Crouch grabbed the holeshot at the start of the main, but got hung up with other riders in the matrix. Kole Henslee of Nixa, MO immediately took over the lead over Johnathan Hems in the rock turn and check out. Matt Crouch made up some ground, but had a hard time getting by other riders.

“I took my time,” said Henslee. “I did not freak out and panic and throw my bike down, I just kept going.”

Saturday Night Enduro Pro
Matt Crouch led the pack through the first turn in the main and never looked back. He was the only rider who used a small bump on the inside of the turn leading to the first tire jump to hop on top of the obstacle. Though he admits having a few bobbles and mishaps, his only challenge was getting around the lappers.

“Overall it was a great night,” said Crouch. “I had a good time out here, bike ran great, I rode well, and I took home the championship.”

Tucker Smith of Kansas City, KS finished the night in fifth and second for the series in the Pro class sixty-two points behind Crouch.

Other Weekend Highlights
In other notables, perhaps the biggest glory hog of the two night series, Tyler Mease of Buffalo, MO took the overall in the Pit Bike class on Friday night in an entertaining fashion. As he circled the track, Mease waved and fist pumped toward the crowed that seemed to enjoy his amusing antics. However, the crowd pleaser was pressured on Saturday night by Kyle Lebow of Galena, MO who ended up taking the overall win.
